DC WRITERS' SALON

About Finishers' Group

Most of us writers have a collection of projects in various stages. Being a creative Renaissance person is awesome, but it can make getting across the finish line - to completing, sharing, publishing, posting, whatever finished means to you - a bit harder.

That's what
Finishers' is about. It's a group of writers who meet for a quarter and commit to working on - and hopefully finishing - a single project (or part of one). W
e still write together, as we do at regular Salons, but with a boost of accountability and connection.

  • Rather than sporadic days, we meet consistently on the same day and time.
  • It's a closed group so we get to know each other and each other's work.
  • We have two group feedback sessions in the quarter: one midway and one at the end.
  • We've recently added the addition of access to a developmental editor too

To be clear, you absolutely don’t have to write a whole book or screenplay, but it's helpful to decide what "finishing" means (e.g. a short story, 5 poems, 3 chapters, or a proposal, etc.). And you certainly don’t have to attend all dates, since life happens, but great if you can.

Groups meet Mondays at 8pm and Saturdays at 3pm. Finishers can pick their day OR float between them. Participation in the group is open to those with Project memberships. We kick off anew each quarter and you can join by simply showing up in the first few weeks.
